Conference Destination - Kochi |
|
 |

Kochi, the name itself conjures up
images of the Chinese fishing nets, the spices, ayurveda and the ships
sailing out into the ocean. The ever vibrant, ever developing and the ever
booming city. Distinctly different from other parts of Kerala, Kochi is
everybody's delight. An ideal blend of tradition with the modern, the city
of Ernakulam wears the new age look with some sky scrappers scattered here
and there. And the old rustic charm of colonial days makes the island of
Fort Kochi a study of contrasts.

Set on a cluster of islands and peninsulas the interesting city of Kochi has
the oldest church in India. Besides being home to 500 year old Portuguese
houses, the world famous Kathakali dance- drama, one of India’s largest port
and a major naval base, it also has India’s only existing settlement of
Jewish community dating back many centuries complete with a 16th century
synagogue. |
The older parts of the city reflect an unlikely blend of medieval Portugal,
Holland and an English country village grafted onto the tropical Malabar
coast.
With a variety of most modern conference facilities in the city, it is the
ideal venue for holding a residential conference in the calm and serenity of
sylvan surroundings. |
