Karwar is the north-west point in Karnataka, just couple of Kms away from
Goa. Karwar is a good place to enjoy and an ideal place to relax. Karwar has
sacred pilgrim centers, historical towns and some of the most beautiful
beaches in the country. Its beauty is said to have inspired the great Indian
poet and Nobel Prize Winner, Rabindranath Tagore to pen his first play. The
Devbagh Beach, is a must for the beach lovers. |
 |
Since it is sandwiched between the sea on one side and Western Ghats on the
other, Karwar is rich in flora and fauna. The monsoons last long and it
rains heavily, the climate and sea beaches are similar to Goa.

Hospet
Hospet in Karnataka is an ideal haven for those who want to visit the
architectural remains of the temples of Vijayanagar Empire. On all sides of
Hospet, you can see large hills made of granite boulders. |
Major attraction at Hospet is Chitradurga, commonly called the Kallina Kote,
which means the place of Stones. Tourists often visit the Chitradurga Fort
which was built by Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. Its architecture to say the
least, is awe-inspiring. Seven walls encircle the fort area and about
nineteen gates provide entry and exit to visitors to appreciate the military
architecture. Situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, Harihara is
another attraction of Hospet.

| However, within
this arid landscape lies a little oasis with lush trees nestled near the
river. Hampi is a great place to spend a few days wandering around and
discovering the rich, vibrant history. |
